How do I get my instrument to you?

Pack up your instrument well in bubble wrap and cartoning and send it to me via UPS or DHL.

Send items to Dead Cat Custom, Bühler Str. 23, 71034 Böblingen, Germany. Please include your name and phone number. I will require a 30% deposit before work begins.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping costs will depend upon the size and weight of the package. The cost will of course vary, depending on where you live. Usual cost within Europe for a guitar is €17; for the US it is €52. I ship items worldwide, handle and process all Customs documents and all instruments arrive without a scratch, fully insured.

How long will it take you to custom paint my instrument?

This can vary, based on type of instrument, complexity of the design but on a electric guitar anywhere from 4-10 weeks.

What is the average number of clear coats I get?

Usually I apply 3 coats, then cut back and apply another 3 coats. On some instruments I take this process further, sometimes repeating the process of cutting back 4-5 times for a very, very deep finish.

How should I make payments?

I am working with PayPal, which is the safest way of transfering money for me and for my customers. A 30% deposit of the estimated cost is required before starting work. The final payment has to be made before releasing the finished instrument. To prove your guitar is finished you will get pictures sent to you by e-mail.

You can pay in advance, but be sure to pay in full when work is completed. Your instrument cannot be released until the total cost is paid in full.

Can you change hardware or do inlay work?

If you want hardware changing or inlay work doing to your guitar as well, then, no problem. I can discuss your specific requirements with you and provide you a separate quotation for this kind of work.

Can I see the progress of the custom painting at all?

I will send you photographs via e-mail of the stages of the custom painting on a regular basis. This will give us both the chance to discuss the graphic during its development and creation.
